The Embassy of Nigeria Brazil/DF-Brazil as the official representation of Nigeria in Brazil, covers all matters concerning Diplomatic relations between the two countries. It also represents the interests of Nigeria in the areas of Economic, Political and Financial Affairs, Education, Legal arrangements and Science.

Since the establishment of the Diplomatic Relations, the cordial relations between Nigeria and Brazil has continued to wax with greater expansion in the area of International Trade and Investment promotions.

Nigeria and Brazil have over the years developed strong business relationship which can be attested to by the presence of Petrobras in Nigeria since 1996. Nigeria alone accounted for more than half of all Brazilian imports from Africa in 2010.

The Consular Section opens to the public between 10:00 A.M. and 12:30 P.M. and 1:30 PM and 3:00 PM – Monday to Friday, except during Public Holidays. Nigerian passports are issued only on Tuesdays and Thursdays at above hours. (Note: The Embassy observes both Nigerian & Brazilian national holidays).

Applicants residing outside Brasília-DF are advised to inquire from consular officers or book appointment with the section before setting off for the embassy, to avoid unnecessary delays.

All applications for visas, passports etc will be treated within the statutory two (02) working days, after submission

Embassy of Nigeria Brazil Consular Services

The Consular Section of the Embassy of Nigeria Brazil is responsible for rendering Consular and Immigration Services to Nigerian Citizens Brazil/DF-Brazil.

Services ranging from: Registration of Nigerian Citizens, Issuance of Emergency Travel Certificate, Issuance of marriage-related documents (Single Status Certificate, Age Declaration and Notification of Marriage), Authentication / Certification of documents, and verification of Nigerian Citizenship etc.

It is therefore advised that newly arrived Nigerians should endeavour to Register with the Embassy.

Embassy of Nigeria Brazil Visa Services

The Embassy of Nigeria Brazil issues the following types of Visas: Nigeria Tourist Visa, Nigeria Business Visa, Nigeria Family Reunion Visa, Nigeria Temporary Work Permit (TWP) and Subject to Regulation (STR) Visa.
