An individual is entitled to a Nigerian ePassport if they can prove in the form of documentary evidence their eligibility to be issued with a Nigerian ePassport or Travel Document.
In a situation where the father of the Child is not a Nigerian, the Child “should be” entitled to the issuance of a Nigerian Passport if the mother is a Nigerian.
The mother is therefore required to provide documentary evidence to show and prove that she is a Nigerian and her children are entitled to be issued with a Nigerian ePassport.
In such instances, the mother is therefore required to execute the issuance of the Letter of Consent and also provide a copy of her Nigerian Passport (preferably, the Nigerian ePassport) and other required documents.
A Letter of Consent [Consent Letter] from the non-Nigerian Father and a copy of his passport OR Travel Document “May” also be required.
Thus it is very important that you have all these SIGNED documents and other required documents before visiting the Nigerian Embassy or the Nigeria Passport Office. This is to avoid the waste of time and unnecessary delays.
If you can get all these documents and sort them as per the Nigerian ePassport checklist for Minors, you would be doing yourself much good, as you would have a stress-free visit.
